Why adopt a koala?

The word "koala" roughly translates to "no drink," and we can see why when in the arid Australian outback, most of their water intake comes from eating fresh eucalyptus leaves. Koalas are endemic to Australia meaning they are found nowhere else in the wild in the world!

The endearing koala is threatened by habitat loss and climate change. Sadly, devastating bushfires have pushed this already struggling species even closer to the edge of extinction. The koala has been up-listed from Vulnerable to Endangered by the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
