I've arrived at the WWF Store, but I don't know what to do. Where do I start?
The easiest way to begin shopping is to select a category from those that appear on the homepage (Wildlife Adoptions/Gift Cards/Apparel & More/Toys & Games). This will take you to an area where you can browse through the items in that particular category. By default you will be shown the full list of products available in the category you’ve selected, but you can also choose to sort the products in various ways (by product type, newest to oldest, etc.).
I’d like to purchase an item. What do I do?
To purchase an item, click on it to get to the detailed page for that item. From here, you can specify the quantity, size (for clothing items), or type of certificate (for adoptions), you want. Once you’ve added an item to your shopping cart, you can either Continue Shopping, or you can Proceed to Checkout.
Why are there already items in my shopping cart?
The WWF Store has been designed to remember your order, so that if you don't manage to complete it for some reason, you can always come back to it later and finish up. If there are items in your shopping cart that you don’t wish to purchase, simply go to the shopping cart and delete any unwanted items.
How do I checkout?
Once you have confirmed that all of the items you would like to purchase are listed in your shopping cart, click “Proceed to Checkout”. In the next steps you will be prompted to provide your billing and shipping information. You will be prompted to verify your order and submit your payment information. You will have one last chance to review and confirm you order, and when ready, your order will be processed after clicking “Place Order”. Please do not press the “Place Order” button more than once.
What happens when I create an account with the WWF Store?
When you create an account with the WWF Store, previously used billing and shipping addresses are securely stored, so that the next time you want to shop, you don’t have to re-enter them. You can also log on to see the status of your order, and view a history of your previous orders.
Do I need an account to place an order?
No. If you don’t want to create an account, you can choose to Checkout as Guest.
I created an account at the WWF Store, but can’t remember my username or password. What do I do?
Your username is the email address you used when you registered. If you use multiple email addresses, you can try to log in with a different one. If you can’t remember your password, it can be reset by providing your email. An email will be sent to you containing a temporary password which you will be asked to change once your login is complete.
If I create an account with the WWF Store, will my credit card information be stored?
WWF does not retain credit card information after the completion of an online transaction. You will have to provide it every time you make a purchase.
Is it safe to enter my credit card? Is the website secure?
All information, including credit card information is encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) 128-bit encryption. Known as USA/Canada grade encryption, SSL 128-bit encryption is currently the strongest export-grade encryption available. This means that any data sent from the user's computer to WWF is completely secure. WWF does not retain credit card information after the completion of an on-line transaction.
How will I receive confirmation of my order?
Upon submitting your order online, you will immediately be directed to a page indicating that your order has been completed. Additionally, an order confirmation email will be sent to the address provided.
I did not receive confirmation of my order. What should I do?
If you have submitted your order but have not been immediately directed to a page indicating your order has been completed, do not click the submit button again. It is possible that the connection is slow due to high traffic volume on the site. The page should come up within a few seconds. If this does not happen, please contact us toll-free at 1-800-26-PANDA (1-800-267-2632). If after 24 hours you have not received your order confirmation email, please check the junk-mail box of your email. If you still cannot find your confirmation email, please contact us to confirm your order toll-free at 1-800-26-PANDA (1-800-267-2632).
Can I change my order after it has been submitted?
In an effort to provide the best and most efficient customer service, we process all orders immediately after they are submitted. As such, we are unable to make any cancellations and/or changes to your order after it has been placed. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
How is the total calculated?
When you view your shopping cart, the sub-total before taxes and shipping are displayed to give you an idea of what the total for your order will be. Once you have provided your billing and shipping information, taxes and shipping are calculated and the final total is displayed for you to review and confirm. Please refer to the Shipping Cost section for an outline of our shipping charge structure.
How are taxes calculated?
The amount of tax charged depends on the type of item purchased and the shipping destination:
Orders sent to addresses outside Canada are not subject to Canadian taxes.
No taxes are charged on Wildlife Adoptions or Gift Cards.
I don’t want to buy anything; I just want to make a donation. Where can I do this?
You can visit our donation page. Here you will be able to make various types of gifts, including In-Memory and In-Honor donations, Workplace Gifts and Wedding Gifts. You can also make single donations, or join the growing community of WWF monthly supporters.
I’ve tried to complete an order using a Visa Gift Card, but it won’t go through.
Visa gift cards are treated by our system just like any other credit card transaction. So in most cases the transaction will be completed without difficulty. However, some varieties of gift cards are only intended for use in stores and can’t be used for website transactions or over the phone purchases. What are Symbolic Wildlife Adoptions?
A Symbolic Wildlife Adoption is a meaningful gift you can purchase for any occasion, to give to friends and family or even yourself. By purchasing a Wildlife Adoption, a Limited Edition Adoption, a Family Adoption, or an Adoption Collection, you are supporting the conservation efforts of WWF and helping to protect wildlife and their habitats. To browse our selection of Wildlife and Family Adoptions, Limited Edition Adoptions or Adoption Collections, simply click on the Wildlife Adoption tab. This is a one-time donation, and does not require monthly or yearly donations to be made.
What are Gift Cards?
Gift Cards are virtual gifts which can be personalized and are delivered to the recipient by email as an e-certificate. These make perfect gifts for people who don't want to receive a physical product as a gift. Moreover, you will receive a tax receipt in the full amount of the gift you make. To browse through our selection, simply click on the Gift Cards tab.
I'd like to adopt an animal. What do I do?
Symbolic Wildlife Adoptions are available by selecting the Wildlife Adoptions tab. The various species you can adopt appear and you will be prompted to select the type of adoption you would like. Once you have selected the type of Adoption you want, you specify whether the adoption is for yourself or someone else, the quantity of adoptions you want to purchase, and then you click on “Add to Cart”. You will be given the opportunity to personalize the certificate with your name and the recipient’s name. When you have completed these steps the adoption will appear in your shopping cart. You may now click ‘Proceed to Checkout’ to complete your purchase, or “Continue Shopping” if you are not done with your shopping or would like to browse through our other items.
Can I give an adoption as a gift?
Yes! Our symbolic adoption program was designed to be a great gift idea. You can have the package sent to your address or to the recipient's address.
Do I get a tax receipt for the adoption?
You will receive a $35 tax receipt for each $50 adoption, a $30 tax receipt for each $40 adoptions and a $25 tax receipt for each $35 Frontline Hero doll. A $55 tax receipt will be issued for the $70 Frontline hero doll & species combo.
Limited Edition Large Sitting Panda Adoption comes with a $800 tax receipt. A $75 tax receipt will be issued with each Family Adoption.
Canadian collection comes with a $435 tax receipt (Arctic Hare, Arctic Fox, Bald-Eagle, Beluga, Blue Shark, Caribou, Grey Wolf, Grizzly Bear, Kermode Bear, Narwhal, North-American Beaver, Orca, Polar Bear, River Otter, Sea Turtle and Snowy Owl). Who will receive the tax receipt for my adoptions?
The tax receipt will always be made out in the name of the person purchasing the adoption kit as per the regulations set out by the Canada Revenue Agency.
How will I receive my tax receipt?
Upon submitting your order online, you will receive an electronic copy of your tax receipt at the email address you provide. Your tax receipt will be sent separately from your order confirmation, within 24 hours of your purchase. If you submit an order by mail, you will receive a tax receipt by email, if provided. Otherwise, it will arrive by mail at your billing address, or included in your package if your shipping address is the same.
What is the name of my animal?
Our Animal Adoptions are symbolic, which means you are helping us save all animals at risk, not just one. WWF works around the world to help protect species at risk and the habitats they call home. Your support goes a long way in helping make these efforts possible.
Do I pay every month for a symbolic adoption?
No. Symbolic Adoptions are one time gifts and you will not be charged monthly for them.
