Placing an Order
How do I place an order online?
Once you’ve browsed our site and found the product(s) you wish to purchase, select the item, quantity, size (for clothing items), certificate details (for Symbolic Adoptions) and then click on “Add to Cart”. Once you’ve added your item(s) to your shopping cart, you can either continue shopping or you can proceed to checkout.
When you have confirmed that all items you would like to purchase are listed in your shopping cart, click “Checkout." In the next steps, you will be prompted to provide your billing and shipping information. You will also be prompted to verify your order and submit your payment information. You will have one last chance to review and confirm your order, and when ready, your order will be processed after clicking “Pay Now." Please do not click the “Pay Now” button more than once.
Once your order is confirmed, you will then receive your confirmation email with the details of your order and the information on how to track its status.
Can I place an order over the phone?
Our customer service team is happy to take your order over the phone. We are available to take your call at 1-800-267-2632, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time. If you call outside of our business hours, don’t hesitate to leave a voicemail and one of our representatives will get back to you. Average response time is within 1-2 business days.
Can I place an order by post?
We also accept orders by post. You may place your order by letting us know what you would like to purchase, and by providing your shipping and billing information with a cheque or credit card number included.

Do I need to create an account when shopping online?
You have the choice of either creating an account or checking out as a guest. Creating an account enables you to save your billing and shipping information for your next shop and to view your current and past orders.
I don't want to buy anything; I just want to make a donation. Where can I do this?
You can visit our donation page. Here you will be able to make various types of gifts, including in-memory and in-honour donations, workplace gifts and wedding gifts. You can also make single donations or join the growing community of WWF-Canada monthly supporters.

We accept all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard and AMEX. We also accept PayPal.
How will I receive confirmation of my order?
Upon completing your order online, you will immediately be directed to a page indicating that your order has been completed. Additionally, an order confirmation email will be sent to the email address provided. Please review this order confirmation email carefully to ensure the shipping address is complete and correct. If your address is entered incorrectly or has been auto-filled by your internet browser incorrectly, you may experience issues with your shipment and you may be responsible for reshipping costs.
I did not receive confirmation of my order. What should I do?
If you have completed your order but have not been immediately directed to a page indicating that your order has been completed, do not click the submit button again. It is possible that the connection is slow due to high traffic volume on the site. The order confirmation page should appear within a few seconds. If this does not happen, please contact us toll-free at 1-800-26 PANDA (1-800-267-2632) or email us at gifts@wwfcanada.org.

Can I change the address or change my order once I place it?
Generally, we are not able to change an address or order after it has been submitted. However, if you contact us immediately after purchasing, we may be able to update your order in time. Our shipping facility fulfills orders within 1-2 business days after an order is placed. Once your order has been fulfilled and shipped, we are unable to make any changes and you may be responsible for reshipping costs.

What carrier does WWF-Canada use to get my package to me?
WWF-Canada works with Canada Post. In case of service disruption, we will work with a variety of carriers, including Purolator, to ensure your package gets to you quickly.
How long will it take for my order to be delivered?
Once your order is confirmed, our warehouse will prepare and ship your order within 1-2 business days.
Delivery timelines depend on the shipping option you select (standard or priority) and the shipping address.
What are your shipping rates and delivery estimates for Ontario and Quebec?

My package was not delivered but the Canada Post Tracking tool says that it was. What should I do?
As per Canada Post’s website, when the Tracking tool indicates that a letter or parcel was successfully delivered, it means the item arrived as addressed. WWF-Canada is not responsible for packages once proof of delivery is provided.
If your address does not accept deliveries right to your door, you may need to check a second location like a mail room, front desk, or safe drop location.
Please double check that the delivery address you submitted with your order is correct. If a letter or parcel has an address on it, Canada Post is required to try to deliver the item to the address indicated. Changes or corrections can’t be made to the address, or the letter or package, once it has been mailed.
If none of the above rectifies the solution, the package may be lost/stolen. Please see the next FAQ for next steps.
My package was not delivered, and I think it was lost/stolen. What should I do?
The shipping courier, Canada Post, is responsible for the delivery of your package. In the case of a lost or stolen package, all inquiries must be directed to the courier. If you believe your package has been lost or stolen, please notify us via email, (gifts@wwfcanada.org). In order to start a claim for a lost package and to receive shipping reimbursement, both the receiver and the shipper must submit a Support Ticket. To start this process, please visit the following page where you can request a Support Ticket with Canada Post to file a claim.
While we will do our best to ensure your order reaches you as quickly as possible or that a suitable solution is found in the case of a lost package, we are not able to issue a refund or exchange until a Canada Post investigation is complete, the package is deemed lost or stolen, and the claim has been issued and reimbursed. Once this has occurred, we will work with you to re-send your package.
Please note that while lost orders are one of our top priorities, package claims are a long and very extensive process that often take several weeks or more to complete. I live in Toronto. Can I pick up my order to save on shipping costs?
WWF-Canada does not have a physical store where customers may visit or pick up orders. All orders are shipped through our shipping facility and the shipping fee is mandatory.
Do you deliver outside of Canada?
WWF-Canada ships only to Canada and the USA. Standard and priority shipping options are available within Canada. Delivery to the USA is available as standard shipping only at a flat rate of $39.95.
While we do not ship physical products to international addresses, we do have our Virtual Gifts collection which can be delivered to any email address.
I do not live in Canada; can I still make a purchase from your store?
While the WWF-Canada e-store can only deliver orders to Canada and the USA, international customers are still able to place orders so long as the shipping address is within Canada or the USA.
All Virtual Gifts can be purchased and delivered directly to any email address.
Can I make a purchase now and have the shipping held off until a later date?
Once your order has been processed, we begin preparing it for shipment. Orders cannot be held and shipped at a later date.
I'm ordering an item as a gift for someone; can it be shipped directly to them?
Yes, items purchased through our e-store can be delivered directly to the recipient. Simply enter the recipient’s information in the Shipping Address section at checkout.
I'm ordering a gift for someone, is it possible to gift wrap my package before sending it?
While we do not offer an additional gift wrapping option, all symbolic adoption kits include the option of a reusable tote bag that is a great substitute for gift wrapping.

Unfortunately, we are unable to reimburse incurred shipping costs when customers change their mind and request a refund.
If the return is due to our error, we will also refund the shipping costs.

Do I need an account when shopping online?
You have the choice of either creating an account or checking out as a guest. Creating an account enables you to save your billing and shipping information for your next shop and to view your current and past orders.
I created an account at the WWF-Canada store, but I can't remember my username or password. What do I do?
Your username is the email address you used when you registered. If you use multiple email addresses, you can try to log in with a different one. If you can’t remember your password, it can be reset by providing your email. An email will be sent to you containing a temporary password which you will be asked to change once your login is complete.
What do you do with the information that is inputted into my account?
We will ask for your name, email address, billing and shipping addresses and telephone number. This information is stored along with your order history to enable us to contact you about your order and provide a faster checkout. You can view your account information and the status of your orders by clicking on the ‘My Account’ page at any time. You do not need to create an account and may checkout as a guest instead.
We do not store your credit card information after the completion of an online transaction.
Is this WWF website secure?
All information, including credit card information, is encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) 128-bit encryption. Known as USA/Canada grade encryption, SSL 128-bit encryption is currently the strongest export-grade encryption available. This means that any data sent from the user’s computer to WWF-Canada is completely secure. WWF-Canada does not retain credit card information after the completion of an online transaction.
What happens to my data?
Personal information gathered by WWF-Canada is kept in strict confidence. Safeguards are in place to ensure that the information is not disclosed or shared more widely than is necessary to achieve the purpose for which it was gathered. What are Symbolic Wildlife Adoptions?
Our collection of Symbolic Wildlife Adoptions are meaningful gifts you can purchase for any occasion, either to give to friends and family or to grow your own collection. By symbolically adopting a species, you are supporting WWF-Canada’s conservation efforts to protect wildlife and their habitats.
There are four ways you can symbolically adopt a species:
- Individual Adoption Kits: Includes one high-quality plush toy, personalized certificate, educational poster, and optional reusable tote bag. Over 45 species available.
- Family Adoption Kits: Includes an adult and baby high-quality plush toy, personalized certificate, educational poster, and optional reusable tote bag.
- Adoption Cards: Includes a beautiful greeting card, envelope, and personalized certificate.
- Adoption Kit Bundles: Bundle individual adoption kits and save up to 20 per cent off. Every species adoption kit in the bundle will include a high-quality plush toy, blank certificate for you to personalize at home, educational poster, and reusable tote bag.

Every wildlife plush is ethically sourced and made to the highest standards for quality and environmental responsibility:
- No living creatures were harmed to make these products
- All packaging materials are printed on 100% recycled paper
- No harmful dyes were used
- All products conform to standard fire safety regulations
- No PVC or other materials with chlororganics were used
- All products conform to relevant criteria of ÖKO-Tex’s standard 100 for baby clothing
- All products are tested following EN 71 part 1, 2, 3

Do I pay every month for a symbolic adoption?
No. Symbolic Wildlife Adoptions are one-time gifts and you will not be charged monthly for them.
How do I request a blank adoption certificate with my Symbolic Wildlife Adoption purchase?
If you would prefer to personalize your certificate yourself, you can opt to receive a blank adoption certificate. Simply leave the sender and recipient name fields blank.
What is the name of my animal / how do I receive information about the animal I adopted?
Our Wildlife Adoptions are symbolic, which means that your purchase does not correspond to a specific animal in the wild. By selecting the wildlife adoption kit you like best, you are helping to protect all species at risk – not just one.
WWF works around the world to help conserve species and the habitats they call home. Your gift goes a long way in helping to make these efforts possible.
What are Virtual Gifts?
Virtual gifts are a sustainable digital gift option that directly supports unique conservation efforts of your choosing, such as protecting polar bear dens and keeping carbon in the ground. Your gift will be delivered by email as a personalized e-certificate at the date of your choosing. These make great last-minute gifts and are perfect for people who don't want to receive a physical product.
The purchaser will also receive a charitable tax receipt in the full amount of the gift you make for all virtual gifts.

How much money goes to help WWF's conservation efforts?
At WWF-Canada we know that financial stewardship and transparency are key to achieving our conservation mission and fulfilling donor expectations. In the last fiscal year, approximately 75% of our revenue was spent on our conservation mission, which is well within acceptable standards for the highest performing non-profits. We make a serious effort to keep administration and fundraising costs low in order to have the highest impact possible towards our conservation goals.

How does my purchase help wildlife?
Your purchase helps support the conservation work that our scientists undertake to protect wildlife and their habitats. For example, e-store purchases help support narwhal tagging and research taking place through our Arctic Species Conservation Fund. This work helps us learn more about distribution, behaviour, and the impacts of underwater noise on narwhals, inspiring actions that safeguard the species.

Do I get a tax receipt with my purchase?
Purchasers may be eligible for a tax receipt based on the product type they purchase:

Who receives the tax receipt?
The tax receipt will always be made out in the name of the person purchasing the eligible product as per the regulations set out by the Canada Revenue Agency.
How will I receive my tax receipt?
Upon completing your order online, you will receive an electronic copy of your tax receipt at the email address provided. Your tax receipt will be sent separately from your order confirmation, within 24 hours of our purchase. If you do not receive your tax receipt after 24 hours, please check the junk mailbox of your email. If you still cannot find your tax receipt, please contact us at gifts@wwfcanada.org or toll-free at 1-800-26-PANDA (1-800-267-2632).
How are taxes calculated?
The amount of tax charged depends on the type of item purchased and the shipping destination:
- Ontario: HST at 13%
- New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and PEI: HST at 15%
- Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Quebec, Saskatchewan and Yukon Territories: GST at 5%
Infant apparel and other items will only be charged 5% (GST).
Orders sent to addresses outside of Canada are not subject to Canadian taxes.
No taxes are charged on Symbolic Wildlife Adoptions or Virtual Gifts.
