WHY ADOPT A FLAMINGO?

Instantly recognizable for their bright pink feathers, stilt-like legs and long, flexible necks, flamingos are found in parts of Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Europe. Born white, it can take several years for their feathers to molt and become pink. Social birds that live in large groups, a flock of flamingos is called a "flamboyance."

While the American and Great flamingos are not endangered, the Andean flamingo is listed as Vulnerable and the Chilean, lesser and Puna flamingos are listed as Near Threatened by the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Your symbolic adoption helps WWF protect habitats across the globe, ensuring the long-term survival of wildlife like this wading bird.
