WHY ADOPT A BELUGA WHALE?

Belugas are one of the most popular and recognizable whales thanks to their "smiling" upturned mouths and pearly white skin. Born dark grey, it can take them eight years to turn white. Belugas live primarily in areas with Arctic sea ice, with about two-thirds of the world populations summering in Canadian waters.

With several populations of belugas now assessed as Endangered, including those living in the St. Lawrence Estuary, WWF-Canada is working to help identify critical beluga habitat among other conservation activities.

With your symbolic adoption, you're helping belugas and other at risk species around the world.

DESIGNED TRUE-TO-LIFE

Our plush includes the upturned mouth, distinctive bulbous forehead, called a "melon," which focuses and modulates their vocalizations, including echolocation "clicks." The beluga's genus name, Delphinapterus, translates to "dolphin without a fin," which is why this plush whale has no fin.
