WHY ADOPT A SLOTH?

Three-toed sloths use their strong claws to hang motionless or slowly move between branches, spending nearly all their time hanging upside down in the treetops. Sloths are primarily folivores, feeding mostly on leaves, fruits and sap. They need healthy tropical rainforests to survive but deforestation is a major threat. The pygmy three-toed sloth is listed as Critically Endangered on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.

WWF is collaborating with communities, governments and companies to encourage sustainable forestry. With your symbolic adoption, you're helping protect habitats across the globe, ensuring the long-term survival of species like the three-toed sloth and providing a healthier natural world for us all.

DESIGNED TRUE-TO-LIFE SLOTH PLUSH

Our sloth plush includes three long claws on all four limbs. Its hand and feet attach with Velcro, so your sloth can hangout like the real thing.

Luckily for you, it does not include the green algae that covers their brown fur, helping them blend in with their surroundings and camouflage them from predators.

How does my purchase help wildlife?

Your purchase through our e-store is a crucial part of our fundraising efforts to support the conservation work that our scientists undertake to protect wildlife and their habitats. For example, to help protect narwhals, our Arctic Species Conservation Fund supports narwhal tagging and research in Nunavut. We also support the development of non-invasive research techniques, including the use of aerial drones and underwater microphones. This work helps us learn more about distribution, behaviour, and the impacts of underwater noise on narwhals, inspiring actions that safeguard the species.

What is the name of my animal / How do I receive information about the animal I adopted?

Our Wildlife Adoptions are symbolic, which means that your purchase does not correspond to a specific animal in the wild. By selecting the wildlife adoption kit you like best, you are helping to protect all species at risk – not just one.

How do I request a blank adoption certificate with my Symbolic Wildlife Adoption purchase?
