Best known for their white fluffy (cottonball-like) tail, eastern cottontail rabbits are one of the most common rabbits in North America. They have large brown eyes set high on their head. Each eye can move more than half a circle, giving them excellent vision, along with an excellent sense of smell.

While eastern cottontail rabbits currently have healthy populations, their numbers may be impacted by habitat loss and hunting pressure in the long-term.
